DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Hotel Fiji - Sonaisali Island

When I travel to these places I give great importance to the beach, not just the hotel. I honestly do not recommend at all waisting your money in this hotel. You'll be GREATLY disappointed like I did.

Bulllllaaa! Double tree resort was for us description of excellence in customer service. The resort is of course gorgeous but what made it so special was its beautiful staff members that everyday made sure we were happy and had everything we needed.
Always very attentive to any of our needs and more, happiness and generosity was floating around the resort and we couldn’t have wish for more!

This was the most amazing 9 days we have ever spent.the staff were amazing and personal, the activities were busy, the staff were above and beyond and the kids club was amazing.we have booked again for the same time next year. Bula Double Tree we love you x

My Wife and I Spent 3 nights here and were very disappointed. The hotel is poorly run and in need of some leadership and updating.

We stayed in a Ocean View Bure, which was the best room they had on offer and to say it was under whelming would be a gross understatement. The rooms were under furnished and poorly laid out. There was nothing in our Mini bar which I thought was strange, when we checked in at 10pm and I wanted a drink of water. On our second night a family of 4 checked in to the room next door (a 2 person room) we could hear their every movement from our room, as our rooms were connected by a wall. I literally heard someone put their cutlery down on a plate. For $400 plus a night I expected a much higher level of quality and privacy.

Staff are mostly friendly but slow to do anything. 9 times out of 10 we had to seek them out. For example at breakfast - only once during our 3 days there did a staff member approach our table and ask if we wanted coffee. When we approached them for coffee they became agitated like we were putting them out by asking them to do their jobs. There was no leadership on the dinning room floor directing staff or creating any urgency around service. The menu was very dated and had nothing to cater to our vegan dietary requirements. Upon booking we checked if our specific diet would be an issue and were ensured they could cater to our needs. We half expected average food but the reality was far worse, and when we requested slight alterations to vegetarian meals staff were not flexible and confused. On another occasion we arranged to go into town with a shuttle bus/van which picked us up from the front off the hotel, the bus was full with 9 or so guest including my wife and I and we were dropped in town and told to be back at the same spot at 2 pm for return pickup. Now you would imagine they would send the same vehicle to pick us up right? Well you would be wrong. They sent a single car.we were left in town for an hour and a half past the arranged pick up time, as my wife and I let the elderly guests or those with children go before us as it was hot as hell and sitting on the floor was the only option bar 1 bench which was occupied. When we returned the hotel took zero responsibility as they said it was an external bus service. In my eyes if your staff tell me to use these people for trips and you allow them to stand out the front of your business with a podium and interact with your guest asking us for room numbers when arranging trips, then you are 100% responsible for the outcome of any service given.

Overall I would not recommended staying here. The hotel resembles a caravan park and the service is poor. Further more I will never stay at another Hilton establishment as this is the 2nd time in 2 different countries that they have let me down in the past 24 months.

This Resort has no beach. Not much to do. Only thing good is breakfast. Slow or no service. Staff is friendly. Hotel should provide shuttle services to beach. Will not recommend anyone to stay here more than two nights.

Clean and spacious room with nice views of the sunset. Food quality was average and pricey. Not too happy with the cocktails at the pool bar - expensive and not tasting like what you would have tried before.

Pros: The room was amazing, spaceous bedroom with a quality TV and comfortable bed. Bathroom was clean and shower was good. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Pool was decent however could see it being abit cramped in peak season. Sunset was quality.

Cons: Food was average, oddly, some items were overpriced while others very relatively cheap. Had a look at breakfast buffet but few vegetarian options for the price ~ £18 pp.
The beach was very dissapointing and the water was brown, not the pictured clear blue water advertised.

Needs a serious update, lacks privicy and the pool is outdated and too small. The pool bar poorly designed and cocktails are watery and tasteless. More ice than ingredients. The food quality is inconsistent if not prepared by the chef.

The hotel was very nice and reasonably priced for its quality! The pool was great and it was a nice place to relax. The ocean is a bit murky in this area, but you can always do excursions to see the smaller islands surrounded by the turquoise waters. Be aware that you have to ride a boat (that is free) any time you wish to leave the resort. Th image is from the patio of an ocean facing bure. It was beautiful!

Well this is the top resort by Hilton. Everything is perfect although the beach is black and the water is muddy. But be advised this is not Fijian feeling resort.this this is the result that can be everywhere in the world.

When you're checking in at the desk and your eyes are drawn to the lagoon- style swimming pool that's only a few steps from the sea, you know that you're somewhere special. Add to that they give you a warm, freshly baked cookie as you register! Beach side bungalow or apartment, everything has been done to maximise your comfort. Free lessons in Fijian are mandatory, - all the staff and some others will greet you with "Bula", - hello every time you encounter them. Get used to responding with Bula back to them and "Wanaka", - thank you for services rendered and you'll be very nearly fluent!
A super place in a location that must come close to paradise.

This Hilton Resort needs a serious update before it looses its prestigious title. Staff are wonderful, very friendly but the food is desapointing in needs of chef with a firm hand on the kitchen staff. The cocktails are short of any standards and are tasteless to say the least. The club sandwich only room service after 10PM did not have any standard appearance, but rather messy. The beach grill food was not again of any standards. The food is 4/10 besides the resort is totally isolated from any reasonable food outlet by a long 10 km. Some how is not a short stroll to anywhere. It should be taken over by Club Med may be?

Great resort isolated and away from the business of the rest of tourist area in denarau. Boats run 24hours staff are friendly and helpful and facilities are good.

Loved the resort and I will take my family there all the time. But the food was a let down. It's expensive but extremely low standard. Next time I will have my lunch and dinner in nadi which is about 20 min away. Please make sure you have a rental or other transport available because going to town by taxi could turn out expensive. But our bure was beautiful. It was clean. Staff were A+ We loved every min of being there minus the food.

Older design with too many probls from kitchen cooking hotel standards below average, tasteless cocktails, there is no enough privicy everything on top of everything else, Fijian staff wonderful but poorly trained by the top management short cutting to put profit above customers confort, Australians are real SUCKERS, once outside Australia the minimum is luxury. It is my irreversible oppininon after my fiftieth year of adult life in Australia. From adult age 32 to DATE.

Quiet and very peaceful place. Amazing sunsets and very beautiful scenery. Friendly staff and super fast service. Has everything available on the island. Highly recommended:)

Friendly service, good sea view.car rental, shop, taxi, all double to triple price than normal.no beautiful beach.the strange is not WiFi signal in the room, only toilet got weakly signal.told to reception they were very friendly, told me stay in room to wait engineer, until check out，no WiFi at all

This is a great place to get away. Lots of different activities to fill your spare time such as table tennis, volleyball, pool, swimming and loads more. The food is pretty reasonably priced. Some things are expensive and most touristy things outside can get pickups from here. Also really excellent place for kids with daily activities.
