Tomlu's Seafood Restaurant

Was nice to get to eat in a local Fijian restaurant outside the resorts.
Food was of very generous portions, hospitality was fantastic, especially Sam who had all the charms of a local Fijian. We would highly recommend Tomlu’s.

We had a nice dinner with chinese food. Great food and very friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended for guests staying at the shangri la. Use coral coast transfers and tours for a cheap trip there.

I came to Tomlu's 12 years ago and had the best fish I've ever had in my life. I returned here a few days ago expecting the same quality and was a bit disappointed. The prices have definitely gone up since I last came and quality has fallen. I ordered the fried fish; while the meat was good, I feel that the batter was not as great as last time. It lacked salt and seemed to be prepared hastily. Even so, it beats most fish places I've been to. The restaurant is a tad expensive for what it is, but I would definitely come back. There banana split is also amazing.

Food and service wonderful, we went twice first time had the chow mien and it was so yummy!
The second time we all got lobster and crab! Both delicious! The crab was super flavoursome and sweet! The vegetable fried rice Yummo! Will definitely be back next time I'm in Fiji

Went here in 2018 -dec to jan 2019 the food was good one waiter had one leg that was not even hight also the european fish and chips was was good and the fried rice was good

We had Lobster, crab, prawns and a whole sea perch. Every dish tasted amazing! We are going back before the end of our holiday

Amazing. Best meal and service in Fiji. The whole baked fish was to die for. Crisply skin on the outside and juicy on the inside.

Not a good night. Would have given a zero star but that is not available. Food came late and tasteless. Service was bordering on rude and careless too.

Amazing company and super friendly staff. Food was definitely worth the wait, fish was full of meat and the sauce was amazing.

Great place to eat. Price and atmosphere leaves the resorts for dead. Just don't be in a hurry everyone is on fiji time.

Been here many times but this visit was a disaster. Parth of six. Pick up from Shangri-la was 20 minutes late. We were then told there was no return as driver decided to knockoff. Would have to get cabs, despite being quoted for a return trip. Ordered the deluxe banquet. Most expensive on the menu. 50 minutes later food eventually arrived (only 2 other tables occupied). Soup was rubbish. Clearly microwaved. Lobster was tough - way overcooked. Stuffed prawns stuffed with God knows what and the chilli crab had not a hint of chilli. Dessert turned up as a scoop of ice cream with chocolate topping. WOW. The they tried to charge corkage despite advising no corkage applied when we booked (And specifically asked if there was corkage). More than fourteen years of going there.never again!

Fabulous food in Tomlu's. Highly recommend by a local, when he took us there and saw the entrance to this restaurant I thought no way is this going to be good. Decor was very dated, but food was tasty. We were not disappointed. Great friendly staff too. Highly recommend Tomlu's

So great to be able to leave Shangrala resort and eat better/ local cuisine. The place doesn't look like much inside or out but the food is wholesome and local.

We went two nights in a row and the best dishes of the ones we ate were: chicken sweet corn soup, whole baked fish, prawns and vegetables. The only thing that I probably wouldn't order again was the beef curry as it was too salty for our taste. That's not to say it was maybe incorrect, that could be to taste in Fiji, but for my palate it was far too salty.

The first night there was some sort of exhaust fume smell which came through a little which wasn't ideal. Wasn't enough to make me feel ill and wasn't there the second night so benefit of the doubt. Also the red lighting, I mean it mostly made us laugh but I'd remove it if I owned the place. Adds a certain charm though for sure.

The cost was extremely reasonable. For what we got compared to Shangrala, the food was way better and more than half the price. Definitely worth checking out.
