My partner and I recently stayed for two nights. While the rooms and grounds were quite beautiful, I can’t recommend this place. There were very few guests when we were there, and while the staff were lovely, the place had an unpleasant vibe. The owners/managers didn’t appear to have a good relationship with the staff. The guest internet wasn’t available during our stay and we weren’t permitted to access the other networks which impacted our trip plans. The food was good, but it was a mostly western menu and quite expensive, especially for the vegetarian version.

Can’t recommend Nanuya enough. We had a fantastic time staying in the treetop bure (no aircon but genuinely not needed with the ceiling fan and breeze) and the view was fab. There was always sun loungers free, plenty of shade and beautiful views over the water. The snorkelling was good, swimming was fantastic and the trip on the Yasawa Flyer to the island was an experience in itself.
The staff were what made the trip. Both Bills, Amani, Tui, George couldn’t do enough. We had a fantastic trip to the caves with the hilarious Moses and Vilemoney-it was a real highlight. Along with the entertainment throughout the day and fantastic singing and musicianship through the evenings. You could tell the staff genuinely enjoy their work.
Huge praise also to the kitchen team. My partner is gluten intolerant and they took it seriously and went above and beyond to cater for him. The food was always fantastic and portions really generous.

This spot is sooo beautiful the rooms are lovely the staff are soooo king and helpful.
We spent 3 nights here and it was perfect. The food was wonderful.
Everything was sooo well organised. I would highly recommend this place.
Can't wait to go back there!

Most (truly) friendly staff we ever experienced. Beautiful view from the room over the ocean.
Dinner was very good, lunch ok.
Breakfast had very little variety and could be very much improved, what would make the stay even better.

Stayed for 3 nights here in a treetop bure. Absolutely lovely stay, from arriving to departing, the staff made you feel welcome and I was very impressed with the upkeep and environment of the resort. I felt truly relaxed and refreshed after my stay here.

I did the guided tour to the caves and guided snorkel which was worth it. Free snorkel, kayak and paddle board rental are pluses. The hike to the tea house is worth doing too. Food here exceeded my expectations, it was fresh and tasty albeit a tad pricey (think 35 FJD for lunch main and 55 FJD for dinner main) which is to be expected in the remote islands, and the continental breakfast was quite adequate (better on some days than others, on day 3 there was muesli, yogurt and fresh donuts served).

If I had to complain about something, it would be the cost of the Wifi. I was able to rely on my cell service for my whole stay though. And maybe it’s not a bad thing if it helps you disconnect for a bit.

This place is so underrated. Been to Laucala Island resort and though it doesn't have all the bling of LIR, the property has most things grown there just as LIR and what's more is that its 79 year old owner still does the farming there. How amazing is that? And the views, facilities and Fijian hospitality is top class

As always in Fiji, the staff at Nanuya are so lovely and helpful. We got treated to lovely songs, were both greeted and fareweled with hibiscus necklaces, and they knew all our names within days.
I wish I could do 4.5 stars as the whole resort was so close to being perfect.

We were there for Christmas, and they put on a wonderful group dinner/buffet.
The activities were all excellent and great value, and the local snorkeling is great in certain places. There has definitely been pollution, with dead Corral and lots of rubbish in places, which is really sad to see.
All the staff and tour guides were super knowledgeable and friendly.

The food menu, though, is small and repetitive and slightly overpriced. It is tasty, but if you don't want to eat the same thing every night, it is a little frustrating. However, drinks are really reasonably priced.

All the demos and evening activities were excellent and very enjoyable.
The spa was so relaxing and lovely too - clearly the ladies know what they're doing.

The female owner seems nice enough, but unfortunately the evenings were more enjoyable when the male owner wasn't around.
I'd suggest donating to their staff fund at the reception - we checked with the workers and that is the way to make sure they actually see your tip.

It's a nice resort in the beautiful part of Fiji that is surrounded by blue lagoons. The resort is well maintained and the staff is more than happy to help you with anything. It is a bit far but, I'll definitely recommend it to someone who wants to stay away from the crowd and experience a real slice of Fiji.

Zero star’s is too kind of this resort. Owner yells openly at his staff. Place is ran down since reopening from Covid. Service is pretty much nonexistent they give new meaning to “Fiji time” ordered 2 sandwiches at 1: 30pm and was still waiting at 2: 15pm it was a turkey club maybe 20 minutes but not 45+ minutes. The amount of flies and bugs while sitting on his deck was disgusting. Staff didn’t care that it took that long. Would never recommend this place not even to my dog. The same owner also owners and runs the boathouse resort and bar on the same property. If you want good service stay at one of the many homestays in the area. This guy and his crabby wife need to be sent back to Australia pronto.

Amazing. The staff are wonderful and it is a little slice of paradise. We loved our room in the treetop bure, the view was unmatched! Food was delicious and plenty to see and do.

Went here for dinner last night. Booked the day before. When we arrived they had given our table to another group. We had checked the day before as 3 of 8 were vegetarian. 6.30pm we ordered and were advised no vege option left. The 3 people that ordered chicken were told 10 minutes after ordering sorry only one chicken dish. So if we wanted food we had to order steak for everyone except one of the vegetarians who said rather than go hungry they would try fish.
Food arrived but we all sat there waiting for one person's food to arrive while the rest went cold. They kept saying its coming its coming but in fact they said when we complained that they forgot it. Ended up cancelling the meal as everyone was finished eating and still hadn't arrived.
Food was $60 for a main, was cold due to wait and a very average steak for that kind of money. Tiny portion size too.
Pretty disappointing experience and can't recommend it.
Staff weren't interested in any compensation or making it right.

Stayed for 3 nights. Staff was very welcoming and felt like family by the end. Food was solid, great daily events and views. Nightly music at dinner. Well worth the boat ride…get direct if you can. Staff was well trained for each trip…Scuba diving, Cave Tour, and Kava Demo were my favorites. Also make sure and hike over to visit Lo’s Tea house

The property is very well maintained and we are glad that we met the owner who is an amazing person.

I am so sorry that I have to give a negative rating for this but I feel it is a resort management's failure that they couldn't rectify the problem happened and fix it. I was expecting management could have done better and spoke to the Staff that had a problem and might have managed to take him along to sort out while we were there on island. It was very disappointing as well as insulting for us that they did not show any intentions of fixing the problem while we were in the resort.

Athough I hope the management will in notice about the bad experience we had, I also have few things to add from my side.
Our Village trip was scheduled and cancelled 2 times when we already mentioned that it is on our list before we leave the resort and it was agreed too. I have had appreciated it if we would have told upfront that you can't make that.
The guided Snorkeling was also cancelled after the and I was asked to pay 'Double' if I still wanted to have. However, I was not offered with the snorkeling near to the resort area by Vata which is FOC as conveyed by the staff. Bur rather, Vata was least interested and not bothered about giving the alternative options. This was rectified and owner took a look into it personally and it was arranged.

Moses- You are fantastic and does all great job. Thank you so much for guiding me to do my first Snorkeling.

Maree- We really are thankful for arranging all the food and being very Cooperative throughout the stay.

Vata- If you are reading this, I would really want to know what made you not speaking to us directly and want to know what problem you had with us. I was told by many of the staff in the resort that they shall talk to you and you would come to us before we leave the Yasawa islands. It really hurts when such things happen while we are ending our trip. I am very sure that you have been doing the some good work there and we have had fun doing all the activities. You are so talented as well, but please have some courtesy the guests to apologize when you are wrong atleast in future. JFYI, the ground staff who came to pick the luggage was even apologizing multiple times for what happened (which is certainly not his job) and it is really a shame that you kept ignoring the fact that you were wrong without bothering. You showed no empathy even while we were getting on the boat to Lautoka.

Ili- Thanks for letting us know about the Village trip cancellation on behalf of Vata. It requires guts to talk to the customer who was already dissatisfied last day itself and we appreciate you taking time to speak to us.

The location of the hotel is amazing as a base to explore the northern Yasawa from. We were able to see the Sawa-i-Lau Caves and also go to Barefoot Manta to swim with the rays. Massive thanks to the boathouse staff for sorting out those trips. The hotel has amazing views of the sunset from the treetop bures - would definitely recommend. The only negatives would be the wifi ($80 fjd per 24 hours per device) - even for a remote island, this is too much; plus the resort has less of an "island feel" and more of a commercial feel in comparison to some of the other islands visited. But don't let that distract you from the amazing time you will have on Nanuya

Really friendly restaurant staff and activity centre staff — showing excellent standard of Fijian hospitality! And the location was superb. I was choosing between NIR and Coconut Beach Resort (CBR) until the week before my stay, and I was glad I chose NIR because the water was relatively calm even during stormy days (while at CBR it could get really windy with rough waters, as the beach was more exposed than NIR), although I also heard very positive reviews about stay experiences at CBR.

Stayed in both treetop bure and the deluxe villas during my stay in December 2021 for a few days.

My recommendation would be the treetop houses — although not having aircond, they’re closer to the ocean, hence coming with better views and breezes. Also more secluded (better privacy). But quite a bit of climb up, but if you’re young and traveling as single/couple it’s not really a problem!

The deluxe villas have aircond and are more spacious (hence a higher price point), but you’d expect to hear more sound from ppl strolling between the pier and reception/dining area or neighboring rooms. Probably better if you’re traveling as a family, with babies or elderly.

A bit of miscommunication with the front staff during the stay (and so I needed to cancel the plan to visit the cave), but I believe it’s because of the property dealing with large amount of bookings when Fiji just reopened post-Covid. I’m sure things would get better.

There’s a mandatory meal plan for the sister property Boathouse Nanuya next door (dining area and activities centre both shared with NIR), but I figured out the food portion quite big for them. If staying at NIR, there’s an a la carte menu, which I preferred.

Btw - A couple of village dogs were frequent visitors. Very cute and friendly!

Nanuya Island was the second place we chose to stay with on our getaway in the Yasawas. It had a really pleasant relaxed vibe. Blue Lagoon beach is a short walk and great for swimming. A lot of the coral was bleached or dead but still some good spots to snorkel otherwise I'd recommend a snorkel boat trip. This is like a garden resort with beautiful gardens and landscaping. The staff were all lovely and they accommodated my partners dietary requirements with ease. They grow almost all their own produce out the back on the farm so all the veges etc are super tasty and fresh. The dinner menu in particular superceded our expectations and their soups were always hearty and delicious. They also freshly make all their own fruit juices and bake their own pastries and bread. Food prices were a little higher than we were expecting however the quality and serving sizes were good. The continental breakfast that was included was plenty for us with a fresh fruit plate, cereals, fresh pastries and bread/toast, home made fruit juice etc. The treetop bure was nicely appointed with jaw dropping ocean and sunset views. Take some repellent and bug spray as the bugs come at sundown. The ceiling fans and Louvre blinds were more than adequate for ventilation and cooling. Overall we had a wonderful stay and would come again. My only feedback would be our bathroom could have been a little cleaner (a mop provided would be good) and less expensive wifi would be helpful. But honestly overall this place was a unique gem and not at all pretentious with a great island feel and I recommend!

Our first holiday away since Covid started. An amazing resort with everything we needed, comfortable, clean, Fijian styled rooms which were very comfortable clean and cool. We celebrated our twin girls 21st, there were 6 of us in total, we had an absolute blast. The friendly, welcoming, kind staff made our holiday the best holiday ever, thank you to all of you. We experienced so much in 9 days. The snorkeling was amazing and just a short walk to end of island or a boat trip to a reef, swimming with the Mantarays' which was an unbelievable experience - we saw at least 12 moving with the current! Kayaking and boarding. We learnt to weave, make bracelets and make coconut cream after a talk about how the coconut palm is classed as the tree of life, just about every part of the palm can be used. We experienced a wonderful hike up to view the Yasawa Islands and absolutely stunning! The Day Spa provides lots of reasonable packages, and we all had incredible massages! Amazing cocktails, beautifully modest and flavorsome food, Fijian music, dancing, and romantic sunsets and so many more activities available. And still enough time to relax and unwind. We helicoptered in and highly recommend this as a quick way to reach the island, and to see the amazing scenery. A dream come true for us all, we will be back to see you next year! We all highly recommend if you are looking for a balance of adventure and relaxation and keen to immerse yourself into the culture of Fiji.
We miss you all! Love from the Kiwis xx

Negative:

The room had no AC despite what was advertised. The owners blamed Agoda saying “we hate them”, “they get all the money” and refused to take responsibility for the wrong room description.
The owner promised to move us to a better room with AC for free but his wife told us next morning that we have to pay for it and that we “already got a discount with Agoda”. They told us to call Agoda and figure it out with them.

The resort has no beach, the nearest beach is about 20 min walk, reachable mostly during low tide. It’s on a private territory of another place and has no sun beds / umbrellas which we could use.

The free breakfast is very poor: basically some kind of very cheap cereal, 1 toast, 1 pastry and a fruit plate per person.

Positive:

All the staff expect for the owners are great, our room had an amazing view. Paid meals are tasty (but not cheap, 15-20£ per dish).
