Eden Bistro & Bar (Fiji) reviews
48 We were very excited to try this upscale fijian restaurant.
The servers were excellent. They took very good care of us without being disruptive. Well done!
The octopus was cooked perfectly. They did not have kokoda, unfortunately. But they did have fern salad, which was delicious.
The crab ravioli was tasty, but $50 for five pieces is a bit too pricey.
The lobster was good but not the best I've had this trip. For the same amount of money, we felt that Tikos had almost twice the amount of lobster.
The cassava chips were excellent! And the wine list was very good.
Eden is known for it’s authentic Fijian food. It is one of the few places in Suva that has mouth watering food that will make you fall in love with Fiji. Located outside the main city center, the restaurant is away from the toots and horns of Suva. Staff are amazing and very friendly. Highly recommended.
This place came highly recommended as fine dining. It was so beautiful and the food was wonderful. I wish I could have tried every vegetarian option.
There was only one other table when we went. The servers were very friendly and helped by taking pictures of my proposal!
Excellent food, interesting variety on the menu and every dish is well presented and ingredients are fresh.
Service is good- staff know the menu and are well trained.
Well worth a visit.
COMING BACK WAS A MISTAKE!
We came back tonight for the ravioli pasta only to be served with a super rationed portion of 8 pcs tiny reviolis well scattered on a big plate for $35 PP.
So is my bowl of Laksa that is half full. Both dish served medium cold after 43 mins of waiting.
We don’t mind paying but we do mind at least getting fed.
But I guest that’s everywhere in Fiji. Everything is too expensive here and you don’t get good value for your money. Most restaurants expect NZ and Aus to cater them at a tourist price. There’s no way a local Fijian can enjoy and afford eating out. I think it’s very cultural, even if you go to places like Holiday Inn or GPH they served you “sun fish” that is the cheapest cuts for $5 PP per kilo that has been frozen for months and charge $25 per serving and extra mark up for extra ketchup and tartar sauce if you ask.
And yes tasteless! It’s like eating a fried carton box. You need a lot of ketchup to swallow it.
Pearl Harbor in Pacific Harbor charges $25PP for a pizza, and the dough tastes like cookies!
Customers don’t mind paying but if you feel like you are deprived of quality + they have no idea how pizza should tastes like + rationed portion and staffs have no idea how to sincerely ask “how was the food” and the customers says “it’s just ok” (because you don’t want to hurt their feelings)
Well I think they should get that. Ok is not good!
I noticed that in most places, food is too basic.
And it’s always about marking up as much as they can charge to tourist without really the desire to feed you or at least know how the food should taste like.
Tonight at Eden Garden, we asked for a piece of bread to mop the sauce as my partner felt so deprived of 8pcs tiny raviolis on his plate.
The bread took 20 mins to arrive and it was cold.
When the bill came, they charged $10 PP extra for that.
The pineapple ginger mint juice, thank God was nice but they charge $8pp on the bill but it was only $6 pp on the menu.
Little things like that make the customers uncomfortable.
We don’t complain and just left. But it’s like this everywhere. For 8 months of living in Suva, there’s not even one restaurant that really made us feel we pay for a good experience, quality food and good service. At least pay for a half decent proper dish.
I wish one day some young Fijians who dream to work in hospitality industry will have the opportunity to go out of the island and visit Asia.
We know how to feed people and truly give remarkable service more than the money they pay.
No wonder Asia’s tourism is rocking the world.
So for the mean time, I’ll stay cooking at home rather than pay $110 pp for food that is cold, too rationed, took so long to come and doesn’t taste like how it should be.
To finish it off, I think before any restaurant should charge that kind of fee for any dish, they might at least know how pasta or pizza should really taste like.
P. S the plate of ravioli last time was a decent portion though. Don’t know what happened tonight.
That’s another thing. Consistency is another thing.
People come back for the same thing as they pay the same price.
Disservice them and they will not come back.
Which is decided for us.
We are not coming back.
A piece of bread for $10 was extortion!
They got $10 but they are losing potential customer who is staying to spend more for another four months of holiday here.
The service is too slow
The food is not worth the money
I don't recommend this place
Wonderfully unique dining experience.
Creative dishes with local ingredients.
A little bit of a drive from Suva, but worth it.
Ended up here by chance but I will go out of my way to do it again. Great food, amazing people. Thank you!
A pavlova better than the kiwi pav - tasting is believing… and the classic sticky date ball with a mocha twist - not too decadent and not too much.my new happy place in Suva!
Delicious fish of the day with lime risotto. Would definitely go again. Also, the sticky date pudding highly recommended.
The food is good, the service just needs to improve, the place is beautiful but the waitresses lack a little knowledge to serve better.
I want to start by prefacing how incredible the young group of staff that helped us throughout the entire night were, they were clearly young and nervous and were so helpful and kind. With that being said I have first of all never experienced such unprofessional behaviour from the clearly owner, our food although incredible was slandered by the owner to us by discrepancies by the staff. We could clearly hear her yelling at the kitchen staff whilst seated outside. After enjoying our wine and meals, the desserts came out (mango cheesecake) with a clear and large patch of black coloured mould. After quietly presenting it to the owner she refused to acknowledge the presence of the mould and it wasn’t until I presented the spot for a second time that there was acknowledgment. However, there was no direct apology for the mould she just blamed the kitchen staff for the clear poor management regime. This issue was only properly addressed by the young ladies working the floor, if it wasn’t for them our desserts would not have been replaced and an apology given. We were excited to enjoy a nice meal out at the end of our trip here in Suva however the manager/owner made this experience subpar. I want to again thank the young group of staff for their diligence and cooperation whilst under clear stress inflicted by their management.
I love the ambience of Sangitas place. The food is delicable, mouth watering delicious. A huge variety of local and international dishes. Top quality service by staff who love to serve and go that extra mile. For the extra special dinner. A favourite place in Suva.
Worse service I ever experienced. Dont recommend this place to anyone. Ordered salad, waited my food 45 minutes and finally didn’t get it ….
Starters to make your dinner. Vietnamese sashimi in a spoon, chikenprawn dumpling steamed and lightly fried in chillie oil followed by coconut crumbed prawn.
Loved the scenery n the staff were so friendly n the food to die for, I will definitely go there again
Beautiful! Food was lovely and the staff was charming. Try the sesame crusted Tofu for a special treat. Favorite meal in Suva.
Outstanding service coupled with food that truly titillates the senses. Aesthetically a great place and ambundent variety of drinks and cuisines. Keep it up and continually be proactive. I'll add to this once I return (have dined here for years) and it is only a stone throw away from home which makes it more exquisite.
What a fabulous spot! Gorgeous and serene inside; delicious food and a huge selection of dishes and drinks. We were absolutely delighted with our meal and with our time here.
Good food. Not great. Ok ambience. No aircon was a challenge for me. Eager staff and helpful service though.
